Belmond Royal Scotsman is a Scottish luxury charter train run by Belmond Ltd.  The Belmond Royal Scotsman train is composed of ten cars; two dining cars, one SPA car, five state cars, one crew car, and one observation car. The two dining cars are named Swift" and Raven with seating for twenty people in each.

The Belmond Royal Scotsman is renowned for its luxurious rail tours of the Scottish Highlands  and other scenic parts of the British Isles too.

The Belmond Royal Scotsman is a luxury train that offers an unforgettable journey through the Scottish Highlands, departing from Edinburgh Waverley Station. It combines Edwardian elegance with the comforts of a country house, featuring mahogany-clad carriages, plush tartan furnishings, and an open-air observation deck for breathtaking views.

The train operates from April to October, offering journeys ranging from one to seven nights. Popular routes include:

GBRf Class 66 loco 66743 brings up the rear of the Belmond Royal Scotsman

Up to 2015, the Belmond Royal Scotsman was hauled by West Coast Railways using Class 37, Class 47 or Class 57 diesel locomotives. In 2016 the haulage contract was taken over by GB Railfreight and two of their Class 66 diesel locomotives, namely 66743 and 66746 are now dedicated to the train, and as you can see, repainted into Belmond Royal Scotsman maroon livery.

The observation car was converted from Pullman Kitchen Car - Snipe - built in 1960 by Metropolitan Cammell. Pullman cars, Amber, Pearl, Topaz and Finch they were acquired in 1989 and converted into the observation saloon and passenger sleeping cars. Pullman car Raven was converted to kitchen car. Pullman car Swift entered service in 2012 and Belmond acquired another Pullman coach in 2015 from West Coast Railway Co Ltd.
